Louise M. Girard, 86 of Maryville, Mo and formerly of Sioux City passed away at the Golden Living Center in Maryville on Monday, September 08, 2014. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City. Rev. Michael Erpelding will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Friday all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Louise was born March 6, 1928 in Gann Valley, SD; she was the daughter of Velmer and Mable (Olson) Hughes. Louise grew up in South Dakota and attended School in South Dakota. She married Kenneth L. Girard May 8, 1948 in Elk Point, SD. Kenneth and Louise owned and operated various businesses and real estate ventures with her children in tow. Louise loved music, dancing, crocheting, arts and crafts, but most of all loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Kenneth of Sioux City; 3 children: Teresa Girard of Marion, IA, Kenneth Girard Jr. and his wife Kris of St. Joseph, MO, Joann Poster and her husband John of Council Bluffs, IA; her sisters and brother: Vila Hilbert of Sioux City, Ona McSperritt of Macomb, IL, Vernon Hughes and his wife Normagene of Sioux City, Nita Ashmore and her husband Roland of Lincoln, NE; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, son Larry, daughters Linda and Luann and son Douglas, brothers: Ordway, Jimmy, Rodney and Velmer Hughes Jr.
