Gladys Bernice Heeren

Gladys Bernice "Oddy" Heeren, 87, a lifelong resident of Sioux City passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014 in Sioux City. Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Rev. Kenny Hsu will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Gladys was born May 21, 1927 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Edward William and Marie S. (Orestad) Oddy. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City Schools. Gladys married Frank L. Heeren July 5, 1951 in LeMars, IA. He died June 9, 2004 in Sioux City. She worked for T.S. Martin Department Store, Wincharger and Heelan High School and retired in 1992 at the age of 62. Gladys was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her son: Frank L. Heeren, Jr of Sioux City; a sister: Edna Mahoney Oddy of Council Bluffs, IA; sister in law Helen Kellison of Sioux City and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, grandson William, and 2 brothers: Ted and Louis Oddy.
