May L. Gensichen, 94, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Touchstone Living Center. The body was cremated. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial of her cremains will follow the service in the Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com May was born on December 8, 1919 in Dakota City, NE to Walter and Lucille G. (Brewer) McLaughlin. She graduated from Central High School. May was united in marriage to Arnold "Skee" Gensichen on August 30, 1940 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1997. She worked for many years and retired from Job Services in the Claims Department. May enjoyed going to the mall to meet up with her friends for meals and good conversation. She is survived by her son Thomas (Susan) Gensichen; grandchildren Benjamin and fiancée Liz Hoebelheinrich , Rose and Ann Gensichen all of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Memorials may be given to the family in May's name.
