James "Jim" Robert Warren, 87, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at a local nursing home after a brief illness. Private family graveside services will be held. James was born the son of LeRoy and Gladys (Ferguson) Warren on December 15, 1926 in Gillet Grove, Iowa. James married Colleen O'Dea on November 29, 1952 in Jackson, Minnesota. Jim loved carpentry work, which he and his brothers learned from their father. Jim also enjoyed travel and camping, and made his living building Excel travel trailers in California for most of his work life. He re-built the house where he and his wife, Colleen lived when they were not in California or on the road. During his retirement, Jim continued his work on the house and his garden. He is survived by daughters, Lazette Gifford of Nebraska, Becky Kantner of Arizona; his brother, Dean Warren of Minnesota; sisters, Anna Schoeneman and Alice Larson of Iowa; and grandchildren, Erin Windle-Causey and James Kantner of Arizona. James was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Colleen O'Dea; older siblings; and a granddaughter, Teri Thompson.
