Sven H. "Whitey" Hallor, 84, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at a local care facility. Abiding by his wishes his body has been cremated and there will be no local services held. Sven was born the son of Sven I. and Linnea Hallor on January 23, 1930 in Sioux City. Sven married June Matz in November of 1953. He was a lifelong Sioux City resident. Sven worked for the Sioux City schools for over 30 years. After his retirement he worked for Sioux City Heelan for another 10 years. He enjoyed fishing and stock car and NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed visiting his sister June and her family in Minnesota. Sven honorably served his country in the United States Army. Sven is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Charlie) Corio of Jefferson, South Dakota and Pam (Bob) Clift of Jefferson, South Dakota; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June; and one sister, June.
