Ronald R. Ruhrer Sr. 77 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Thursday July 17, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11:00a.m. Monday July 21, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend R. Paul Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Sunday July 20, 2014 from 4 till 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 till 8 p.m. with a Prayer service at 7:00 p.m. with a Masonic service following at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Tuesday July 22, 2014. Ronald R. Ruhrer Sr. was born August 27, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Carl and Eileen (Suber) Ruhrer. Mr. Ruhrer was employed with the Sioux City Journal as a pressman for many years and following his retirement from the Journal was employed with Hy-Vee for several years. Mr. Ruhrer attended Sioux City Community Schools and graduated from Sioux City Central High School. Ronald enjoyed golfing, bowling , wintering in Arizona and was a recognized donor at the Siouxland Blood Bank for donating more than 21 gallons of blood. He was a Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Abu Bekr Shrine Foot Patrol and the Masonic North Riverside Lodge # 662 A.F. & A.M. Ronald Ruhrer married Marilyn Miller into this union four children were born. Mr. Ruhrer is survived by one son Ronald Ruhrer Jr. and his wife Heidi of Moville, Iowa. Two daughters; Rhonda Bigham and her husband Tim of South Sioux City, Nebraska and Robyn Sander and her husband Bruce of Baton Rouge, Louisiana along with eight grandchildren, 14; great-grandchildren and his significant other JoAnn Johnson of Sioux City He is preceded in death by his parents, second wife Wanda, son Raymond Ruhrer, one brother and three sisters.
