R. James "Jim" Buswell

March 28, 1930 — June 10, 2014

R. James "Jim" Buswell, 84, of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, June 10th, 2014 at a Denver, Colorado care facility after a brief illness. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. The Rev. Harold Tongen of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. There will be a reception immediately following graveside interment, also at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Jim was born March 28, 1930 in Sioux City. He was the son of A. Clark and Margaret "Madge" (Cunningham) Buswell. Jim graduated from Central High School and has been a lifelong Sioux City resident. He married Frances L. Buswell on October 28, 1949 in Sioux City. Jim was co-founder and partner of Three Rivers Benefits, an employee benefits company. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. Jim also served on the board of the Siouxland YMCA, including a term as president. He was an avid golfer and camper. He also enjoyed several hobbies including woodworking and radio controlled airplanes. Survivors include his daughter: Roxanne Hutt and her husband Stephen of Perryville, KY; his sons: Roger J. Buswell Jr. and his wife Deneen of Castle Rock, CO, Kevin C. Buswell and his wife Diane of Lakewood, CO; 2 sisters-in-law: Janette Linden and her husband Bayne of McCook Lake, SD, Evelyn Dymkowski and her husband Eugene of Clinton, IA; 8 grandchildren: Wade Hutt, May Hutt Luong, Roger Buswell III, Patrick Buswell, Rachel Buswell, Stacy Trujillo Benner, Jason Trujillo and Kristin Buswell Wagner; 13 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, his brother, A. Clark "Skip" Buswell, Jr. and his parents.
