Bradley D. "Bud" Brodie, 41, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at his residence of natural causes. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Bradley, the son of Stephen and Nancy (Hoppe) Brodie,was born on April 1, 1973, in Sioux City. He graduated from East High School in 1992. He had been a lifelong Sioux City resident. Bud worked concrete construction for Frank Audino, Steve Schultz, and Concrete Complete. He also worked for Scheel's for three years. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin. He had a gentle, infectious spirit and a kind smile. Bud had many friends who loved and cherished him. He was a great uncle who loved spending time with his nieces and nephew. He was also an animal lover. Bud is survived by his mother, Nancy Brodie of Sioux City; one brother, Ryan Brodie of Sioux City; maternal grandparents, Frank and Connie Hoppe of Kingsley, Iowa; six aunts and uncles, Gary and Kathy Hoppe of Correctionville, Iowa, Kim and Jane Dreyer of Algona, Iowa, John and Jana Hoppe of Pierson, Iowa, Margaret Kroepel of Le Mars, Iowa, Joel and Mary Aarons of Chicago, Ill., and Marie Brodie of California; nieces, Brooke and Sidney; nephew, Tyler; numerous cousins; and special friend, Annette "Frankie" Dattolico of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen; paternal grandparents, Bill and Reva Brodie; and his beloved dog, Boe. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials which will be determined at a later date.
