Wilbur R. "Bill" Julius, 93 of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday. April 30, 2014 at a local care facility. Memorial Services will be at 1:30 P.M. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Rev. Tess Panamarow will officiate. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Bill was born May 13, 1920 in Sioux City; he was the son of William and Elizabeth (McKeever) Julius. Bill grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1938. He married Dorothy M. Newton April 24, 1943 in South Sioux City, NE. Bill worked for Curtis Sash and Door, Wincharger and then for 32 years for Waitt Cattle Company. He had also served as secretary of the Livestock Traders Exchange. Bill had been an active member of Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ before transferring to Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed race car driving in his early years, hunting, fishing and spending time at his cabin in Minnesota. Survivors include 3 children: Janet Winslow (Jim) of Morrison, IL, Sally Coupe of Sioux City, Peggy Slotsky (Jeff) of Corning, IA; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; sister Marion and a brother Donald
