SIOUX CITY | Jane F. Schnoes, 82, of Sioux City, died Thursday, Apr. 24, 2014 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home after a short illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 30, 2014 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Graveside services for her son, Richard Schnoes, will also be performed. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Jane was born June 1, 1931 in Charles City, IA the daughter of George and Myrtle (Smith) Hueser. She graduated from St. Margaret's Academy. On Oct. 27, 1956 she married Leo J. Schnoes in Marcus, IA. Together they raised 4 children, Michael, Richard, Robert and Teresa. Jane worked for the Easter Seal Society as a bookkeeper and secretary for over 10 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Leo died Dec. 27, 2012 in Sioux City. Jane enjoyed her Sun Valley Wednesday Golf League where she hit a hole in one. She was an avid bingo player and loved to crochet. She was a longtime member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and their Rosary Society. Survivors include 2 sons and their wives, Michael and Jean Schnoes of Adel, IA and Robert and Sandra Schnoes of South Sioux City, NE; a brother and his wife, Ralph and Ruth Ann Hueser of Bellevue, NE; 2 grandsons, Joseph Schnoes and Adam Schnoes, both of South Sioux City, NE; and a great-granddaughter, Kaylie Schnoes of Grove, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a daughter, Teresa Schnoes, a son, Richard Schnoes and a brother, Charles Hueser. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Holy Spirit Retirement Home. The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Spirit Retirement Home for all the care and support they provided to Jane and Leo.
