Wilma B. "Billie" DeRocher, 88 of Hinton, IA passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her residence after a brief illness. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellendale, IA. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday with the family present from 6:00 -8:00 P.M. and a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Monday all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, 3220 Stone Park Blvd, Sioux City. Billie was born May 30, 1925 in Pierson, IA; she was the daughter of Henry and Eunice (Boothby) Kuhrts. Billie grew up in the Pierson area and started country school at the age of 4. She graduated from Cushing High School in 1942 and then attended secretarial school in Sioux City. Billie married John F. DeRocher September 10, 1947 in Ellendale, IA. Billie worked for Otis Elevator, the Sioux City Journal, Ruble Vetinary and the Hinton Café. She volunteered at the Hinton School Library and loved to travel. She enjoyed bird watching, butterflies, gardening and tending to her indoor plants. Billie had a good sense of humor. Survivors include her 5 children: Ronald DeRocher (Ranita) of Westfield, IA, Michael DeRocher (Karen) of Merrill, IA, Gary DeRocher (Twila) of Merrill, IA, Deb DeRocher of Hinton, IA, Jean DenOuden (Bruce) of LeMars, IA; 13 grandchildren: Cassie DeRocher, Cory DeRocher, Eric DeRocher (Heather), Shari Moriston (Dustin), Shauna Jester (Brett), Kari Chase (Justin), Jon DeRocher (Jill), Kammi DeRocher (Nick Meyers), Tara Bird (Lee), Heather Miller (Eric), Dani DenOuden, Jessie DenOuden (Zach Woods), Casey DenOuden (Maylon Messerhiser); 19 great grandchildren with one on the way; 4 great great grandchildren. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, John DeRocher in 2003, a brother Robert, a granddaughter Callie and a grandson Preston. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren
