Lowell V. Sarff, 68, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Deacon Patricia Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery, Holly Springs, Iowa. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Lowell V. Sarff Jr. was born on Sept. 5, 1945, in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Lowell V. and Evelyn (Conway) Sarff Sr. Lowell graduated from Onawa High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 19, 1966, to Sept. 18, 1968. Mr. Sarff was employed with Container Corporation, retiring after 39 years of service to them. Lowell married Patricia Smith on June 8, 1967, in Hornick, Iowa. To this marriage two daughters were born. Lowell enjoyed fishing, camping, stock car racing, gardening, both vegetables and flowers, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Lowell was a lifetime member of the Onawa V.F.W. Post 2694. Mr. Sarff is survived by his wife, Patricia Sarff; two daughters, Lisa Felix and her husband, Jon of Sioux City, and Shannon Miller and her fiance, Gilbert Mora of Claremore, Okla.; six grandchildren, Bianca, Adrianna, Chase, Jessica, Michael, and Daniel; a great-grandson, Dakota; his mother-in-law, Mary Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim Sarff; a sister, Sandy Peterson; his stepfather, Logan Butcher; and father-in-law, Wayne Smith.
