Cleora Maxine Ferrara

Cleora Maxine Ferrara "Max" 66, of Sioux City passed away Saturday March 29, 2014 at a Sioux City hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday April 3, 2014 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday April 2, 2014 from 4 till 8 p.m. with family present from 6 till 8 p.m. and prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery in Holly Springs Iowa. Cleora Maxine Ferrara was born July 9, 1947 in Quakertown, PA the daughter of Louis and Cleora Maxine (Metcalf) Ferrara. She moved to Sioux City with her family prior to her first birthday. Cleora graduated from Sioux City Central High School and was already working at John's Café. She later worked at Zenith and Johnson Biscuit and retired from Interbake Foods after 29 ½ years at the age of 62 to take care of her mother. She will be remembered as a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother and her saying "God loves you, and so do I". Maxine always lived with grace, and her laugh will be remembered by many. Maxine loved Branson, MO, genealogy, reading, fishing, word search puzzles, old TV shows and most recently texting. Maxine overcame adversity and hardships with unwavering faith in God and lived a life of service to others. Maxine is survived by one son; Shawn of Sioux City and two grandchildren; Angel and Kurtis Ferrara. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, one infant grandson Jonathan and her best friend Irene McPeek.
