Lonnie R. Bellis

Lonnie R. Bellis, 62, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at a local hospital. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at St. Paul's Indian Mission. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Lonnie was born the son of Wilbert "Ole" Curtiss Bellis and Lucille Shirley(Rouillard) Willer on December 3, 1951 in Sioux City. He received his schooling in the Sioux City schools and had been a lifelong Sioux City resident. Lonnie was married to Marlene (Combs) Bellis for many years. To this union four children were raised. Lonnie worked for the family construction business and also for WinnaVegas Casino. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing, especially Dale Earnhardt. He loved his family and his animals, Tiger T and Tiger. Lonnie was an easy going person with a great sense of humor. The family would like to thank Perry Boulware for the loving care and friendship he showed Lonnie. Lonnie is survived by three daughters, Michelle Bellis, Tina Bellis, and Theresa Roche all of Sioux City, Iowa; one son, Michael Bellis; two brothers, John Willer of Des Moines, Iowa and Robert (Deb) Bellis of Tampa, Florida; ten grandchildren, Derrick, Tyler, Tray, Sabrina, Jacob, Brandon, Mikayla, Mady, Landon, and Logan; one great-grandson, Devyn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-parents; one sister, Linda Lee; and one nephew, Ryan.
