Pearl J. Abraham, 63, of Merrill, formerly of Sloan and Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2014 surrounded by her family at her daughter's home in Merrill after a courageous battle with cancer. Abiding by her wishes, her body has been cremated. Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church in Merrill. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Pearl was born the daughter of Hans P. and Ruth V. (Morrison) Jensen on June 14, 1950 in rural Mapleton, Iowa. Pearl married Gary Scofield, Sr. on March 14, 1966. She worked as a CNA at several hospitals and nursing homes over the years. Pearl loved her children and grandchildren very dearly. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and reading. The family would like to thank Hospice of Siouxland for the loving care and kindness they gave to Pearl. Pearl is survived by three children, Randy (Shawna) Scofield of Sioux City, Iowa; Gary (Terri) Scofield, Jr. of Meridian, Idaho; and Angela (Troy) Dice of Merrill, Iowa; six grandchildren, Megan Scofield of Sioux City, Iowa; Aliya, Alexander, and Danny of Idaho; Larrisa Dice and Cody Donelson of Merrill, Iowa; two half sisters, Norma Jensen of Ida Grove, Iowa and Patricia "Pat" Trometer of Merrill, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one grandchild in infancy; two half brothers Ardell and Orville; and six half sisters, Azelia, Neola, Elvena, Furry, Penelope "Penny", and Pauline "Polly".
