SIOUX CITY | Darlene R. Dibble, 87, of Sioux City, died Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Touchstone Living Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. David Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a vigil service 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Darlene was born Feb. 15, 1927 in Merrill, IA the daughter of Leslie and Edith (Mattas) Bauerly. She grew up in Merrill and attended Le Mars High School. Her family moved to Sioux City where she graduated from Central High School. Darlene started working at Katz Drug Store where she met her future husband, Ronald. While Ronald was serving with the U.S. Army in Korea, Darlene began working at Toller Drug Store. On June 21, 1948 Darlene and Ronald were married in Sioux City. Together they raised 5 children. She was a full time homemaker until her two youngest children started school. Darlene then worked for the Sioux City Schools lunch program. She also sold Avon products for 33 years and achieved being in Avon's President Club. Darlene was an Election Official from 1983 to 2010. She was a lifetime PTA member of Hawthorne Elementary School. Darlene was a member of St. Michael Church and their Altar Society. Darlene will be remembered for being actively involved with her children's activities. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and board games with her grandchildren. Darlene also liked bingo and going to Winnavegas. Survivors include her husband, Ronald of 65 years; 5 children, Roger Dibble of Sioux City, Shari Dibble of Sioux City, Teresa Eichmann and her husband, Jeff of South Sioux City, NE, Robert Dibble of Sioux City and Joan Werner and her husband, Craig of Grimes, IA; a brother, Larry Bauerly and his wife, Delores of Sioux City; 6 grandchildren, Jenni (Jeff) Sadler, Niki Dibble, Kyle and Curtis Eichmann and Ryan and Jared Werner; and 2 great-grandsons, Will and Ben Sadler. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Delores Muldowney and Mary Thorp; 2 infant brothers, Donald and Duane and a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Dibble. Pallbearers will be Robert Dibble, Craig Werner, Jeff Eichmann, Kyle Eichmann, Curtis Eichmann and Jared Werner. Honorary pallbearer will be Ryan Werner. Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Siouxland, St. Michael Catholic Church or directed to the family.
