SIOUX CITY | Lotus LoRee Wittkamp, 93, of Sioux City, IA passed away Mar. 12, 2014 at a local hospital. Abiding by Lotus' wishes there will be no services. Her body was cremated. (Barnes) Wittkamp was born Sept. 6, 1920 in Marcus, IA to Wayne C. and Myrtle (Cunningham) Barnes. Lotus taught country school in Marcus, IA. On Nov. 30, 1939 she married Kenneth Wittkamp in Marcus. When Kenneth went to the Navy she worked for Cargill Grain in Sioux City. After Kenneth came home from the service they made their home in Sioux City. He died April 26, 2010. Lotus was a member of First Methodist Church in Sioux City and a member and past president of St. Luke's Auxiliary. Lotus volunteered in several departments at St. Luke's, but mostly in the OB Dept. She had over 10,000 hours of volunteer service to St. Luke's. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth and her parents, Wayne and Myrtle (Cunningham) Barnes. Lotus is survived by many, many friends.
