Christina Beaumier, 86, of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at her daughter's home in Pierson, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Christina was born on Oct. 10, 1927, in Mohacs, Hungary, to Johann and Anna (Sziebert) Gundics. She was married to Thomas J. Beaumier Jr. in February 1947 in Oberaudorf, Germany. After they were married, Christina moved to America with her husband, where she became a U.S. citizen in 1949. After numerous moves in the military, they settled in Sioux City, where she was a homemaker and seamstress, working out of her home and at Bostwicks. Christina loved to sew and was always found at the stove cooking for her family and friends. She was also an avid reader. She had a deep love for her grandchildren and loved to play a good game of Skip-Bo, Uno or Yahtzee with them all. She is survived by her four sons, Richard (Lea) Beaumier of George, Iowa; Mike (Sheila) Beaumier of Washta, Iowa, Paul (Kris) Beaumier of Sioux City, and Mark Beaumier of Sioux City; daughter, Lil (Gary) Hoesing of Pierson, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren and lifelong friends Clifford and the late Patricia Goodwrich of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Jerry, Thomas III, and Clifford; sister, Emie Helmrich; and a granddaughter, Mariah Beaumier. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America or ALS Foundation for Life (Lou Gehrigs).
