Ruth G. Hitt

Ruth G. Hitt, 87 of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at a local nursing facility. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. John Pehrson officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior at the church. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Ruth was born on April 13, 1926 in Sioux City to Harvey and Hilma Gasper. She married Lester Hitt on December 16, 1944 in Dakota City, Nebraska. Ruth took great pride in being a homemaker and raising her children. She enjoyed rummage sales, family gatherings, working crossword puzzles, gardening and traveling. Ruth was a active member in the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Ruth is survived by her son Leslie of Sioux City. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester in 2011, and daughter Donna D. (Hitt) Dehan in 1971.
