Anne Elizabeth Carlson, 21 of Fort Ransom, North Dakota passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 in rural Wadena, MN., from injuries sustain in a residential fire. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City, IA. with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Private family burial will be held prior to the service. A memorial service will be held in North Dakota at a later date. Services are under the direction of Nelson Berger Northside Chapel. Anne was born on June 3, 1992 in Fargo, North Dakota, the daughter of David and the late Lori (Dahlen) Carlson. Anne was baptized and confirmed in the ELCA Lutheran Church and was an active member of Standing Rock Lutheran Church where she served as President of the Youth Group. She was raised in Fort Ransom where she attended grade school and graduated from Lisbon High School in Lisbon, North Dakota with the class of 2010. She attended the University of Minnesota-Crookston and the University of North Dakota. Anne was employed with various companies in North Dakota. Anne was a member of the Girl Scouts and traveled to Alaska with her troop. During her teens years she was a frequently requested babysitter and helped raise half of Ransom County. In high school Anne was active in Music, Band, Drama, Cheerleading, and manager of the boys' basketball and track teams. She received Freshman and Senior Choir Member of the Year Awards. Annie travel with the high school band and choir to New York City and Nashville. While attending the National Convention for F.B.L.A. in Nashville, TN she auditioned for American Idol. Anne also participated in a mission trip to China while attending the U of M. Anne will always be remembered for her big smile and bubbly personality. In Anne's free time she enjoyed spending time with her cats Whiskers and Pistol and dog, Zai. Anne is survived by her Father, one brother Paul of Grand Forks, ND, Paternal Grandmother Lennice Carlson of Sioux City, IA, Maternal Grandparents Art and Donna Dahlen of Luverne, MN, and Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Anne was preceded in death by her mother, Paternal Grandfather Gordon Carlson, Uncle Dave Sanny and her special friend, Daniel Suhl who perished in the same fire. In lieu of flowers please bring a new Teddy Bear to the service. Bears will be donated to area agencies to be given to children in need so Anne can continue to help children.
