SIOUX CITY | Larry M. Nyreen, 72, of Sioux City, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at a local hospital following a brief illness with cancer. Services will be held at a later date with burial in Graceland Park Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel assisted with arrangements. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Larry was born March 13, 1941 in Sioux City the son of Harvey and Luella (Marsh) Nyreen. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Sioux City, where he worked for Standard Ready Mix for 41 years. He retired in 2006. He married Mitsu M. Ebel on October 20, 1981 in Las Vegas, NV. Larry was a fanatic about bingo. He also loved gambling at the casino. Larry would play the penny slots to see how long and how far he could go. Survivors include his wife, Mitsu Nyreen of Sioux City; daughter, Tanya, son, Tim of Dakota City, NE and daughters, Jody and Karri Lenzen of Sioux City; 2 grandsons, Beau and Nathan Lenzen; brother, Darald Nyreen of Sioux City; sister-in-law, Janice Nyreen of Sioux City; brothers-in-law, Joe Ebel and wife, Marilyn, Bill Ebel and wife, Judy and Jim Ebel; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ricky, a brother, Eddie Nyreen and sister-in-law, Karen Bauder.
