SIOUX CITY | Amelia J. Rusk, 91, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at Countryside Retirement Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 at The Church of The Nativity with Rev. Steven McLoud officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery following services. Visitation with the family present will be 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Amelia was born April 10, 1922 in rural Randolph, NE to Henry and Elizabeth (Staiert) Schrad. She grew up in Randolph and graduated from St. Francis Grade School and High School. She moved to Sioux City in 1947 and attended business school. Amelia married Frank Rusk on May 12, 1956 at Cathedral of The Epiphany in Sioux City. She worked as a secretary at Sioux City Furniture from 1948 to 1961 and at Davidson Lumber Co. as a bookkeeper from 1961-1990. Amelia was a member of Church of The Nativity and served as a chair lady for two terms and was a member of the Guild. She remained active in the church until she needed to care for her husband, Frank. He passed away on March 21, 2006. Amelia and Frank enjoyed bowling for many years, earning many trophies. They also enjoyed golf, fishing and did a lot of traveling to Western states. Survivors include her sister, Theresa and husband, Ed Fuchtman of Hartington, NE; a sister-in-law, Gen Angove of Sioux City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Clarence and Leonard Schrad, a sister, Florence Schrad and an infant sister, Genevieve all of Randolph; a sister, Mary Ann and husband, L.L. Foerster of Norfolk and two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
