Donald L. Mohan

Donald L. Mohan, 84, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, February 07, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Augustana Lutheran Church with Reverend Del Olivier officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 10, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 to 8 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Donald was born the son of James and Hannah (Samuelson) Mohan on December 1, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Leeds High School. Donald honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. Donald married Janice Nelson on September 29, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa. He worked for Northwestern Bell, AT&T, and Lucent for 44 years. Don enjoyed playing golf, reading, and fishing. He was a lifelong member of Augustana Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Triangle Lodge #643 and the Sioux City Consistory. He was on the Telco Triad Credit Union Board of Directors for 34 years. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Augustana Lutheran Church. Donald is survived by his wife, Janice of Sioux City; three children, Mark (Marci) Mohan of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, David Mohan of Huntsville, Alabama, and Amy (Merle) Bensley of Des Moines, Iowa; one sister, Mildred Peterson of Sioux City, Iowa; one brother, Robert (Doris) Mohan of Sioux City, Iowa; two grandchildren, Hannah and Dylan Mohan of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard; and one sister Annalee.
