Mona J. Drury

Mona J. Drury, 83, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, February 5th , 2014 at a local care center following a brief illness. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 8th, 2014 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Father Michael Erpelding officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 P.M. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 7th, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Mona was born July 17th, 1930 in Sioux City the daughter of Henry and Mary (Gibbons) Zeihm. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1949. Mona married Charles J. Drury on July 28th, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on November 20th, 2013 in Sioux City. Mona loved her family and spending time with her grandkids and beloved dogs. She enjoyed Bingo at St. Boniface and was a Chicago Cubs Fan. Survivors include her children: Mary Jo Drury of Sioux City, Mike and wife Katherine Drury of Sioux City and their children Michael and Kati Drury, Jodi and her husband Robert Strong of Hubbard, NE and their children Nancy Fleming, Bobbi and Nicholas Strong, and Charla and her husband John Thelen of Meridan, KS and their children Abbie, Skye, Hunter, and Brody Thelen; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, three grandchildren, and sisters Margaret Beaulieu and JoAnn Headid.
