Mary Winklepleck, 57 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at a Sioux City hospital surrounded by family and friends. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Armand Bertrand will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday with the family present from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. and a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Mary was born April 13, 1956, in Sioux Falls, SD; she was the daughter of Harold "Jake" and Carmel (McIlvenna) Gaspar. Mary grew up with her 10 brothers and sisters in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School in 1974. Mary was a stay at home mom and daycare provider until 1993 when she began working at Drilling Pharmacy where she was still currently employed as a pharmacy technician. She loved working with her Drilling co-workers and taking care of her customers. Mary enjoyed going to the lake, sunbathing, playing cards, visiting the casino, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was loved by everyone she met and a mother to anyone who walked through her door. Mary was united in marriage on Nov. 29, 1975, to Michael J. Winklepleck, Sr. in Sioux Falls. During their 38 year union they had three children. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Michael J. Winklepleck Sr. of Sioux City; 3 children: Nicole LaFleur and her husband Jess of Jefferson, SD, Jennifer Pennings and her husband Mark of Sioux City, Michael J. Winklepleck Jr. and his wife Kari of Sioux City; her mother: Carmel Gaspar of Sioux Falls, SD; her brothers and sisters: David Gaspar (Judy) of Sioux Falls, Dan Gaspar of Sioux Falls, Patty Schlimgen (Rick) of Rapid City, SD, Jim Gaspar (Kathi) of Sioux Falls, John Gaspar (Anita) of Sioux Falls, Joanie Taylor (Ward) of Buckeye, AZ, Lori Gaspar of Sioux Falls, Micah Gaspar (Donna) of Sioux Falls, SD; 6 grandchildren: Kody & Tyler LaFleur, Taylor Pennings, Brinley, Paysen "Frank" and Landrey "Lulu" Winklepleck and one grandchild on the way; her brothers and sisters in law: Joe Winklepleck (Monica) Sioux Falls, Cheryl Winklepleck of Cherokee, IA, Dan Winklepleck of Sioux Falls, Pat Winklepleck of Sioux Falls, Mark Winklepleck (Sue) of White, SD, and Jon Winklepleck (Jodi) of Sioux Falls, SD and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her father, Harold Gaspar; brother, Paul Gaspar; brother, Don Gaspar; father in law, Joseph Winklepleck; mother in law, Beverly Winklepleck; sister in law, Susie Winklepleck; brother in law, Drew Schubert; and nephew, CPL Nathan Schubert. Honorable pallbearers will be Spetlar Tonga, Beau Livingston, Jared Small, Craig Fobbe, Kyle Ortegren, Nick Krull, Joe Bisenius, Adam Lloyd, and John Zevenbergen "her other sons". In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Security National Bank, where a memorial fund has been set up for the Winklepleck family.
