SIOUX CITY | Kathleen M. "Kathy" Schulte, 58, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, surrounded by her family. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Kathy was born Dec. 3, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the daughter of Vincent and Catherine "Irene" (Burns) Schoberg. Kathy grew up in Sioux City, graduated from Epiphany Grade School and Heelan High School in 1974. She attended Wayne State College and Briar Cliff College. Kathy married Robert J. "Bob" Schulte on Nov. 7, 1987, in South Sioux City. Kathy conveyed a genuine caring personality and kindness to everyone she came in contact with. She adored her children and grandchildren as they were the main focus of her daily life. Kathy loved life and had the patience of a saint. She had a unique group of lifelong friends with their friendships beginning back in grade school. Her faith was important to her and she spread that faith with her family and everyone around her. Kathy enjoyed luncheons with these lifelong friends, going to Heelan athletic events, and watching Iowa basketball games. Survivors include her husband, Bob of Sioux City; children, Emily (husband Tim), children Cody, Breezy, Kassidy and Brandon, TJ (wife Kristi), children, Theo, and one on the way, Kegan (girlfriend Kim) and children, Jayden and Aurora, and Molly, all of Sioux City; her sister, Mimi Gerjets (Layne) of San Marcos, Calif.; her brothers, Jim Schoberg of Valley Center, Calif., Tom Schoberg (Elvie) of Tula Vista, Calif.; her mother-in-law, Mary Lou Duling of Sioux City; her nieces and nephews, Suzanne (husband Darren), Heather, Kathleen, Lisa, Noah, Marshall, and Matthew. Kathy is also survived by her group of lifelong friends who have played a very special part in her life. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister-in-law, Janet Schoberg; father-in-law, Carl Schulte; a nephew, James Christopher Schoberg; and beloved dogs, Jordy and Zoey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for medical expenses.
