Doris L. McKenna, 95 of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Touchstone Living Center. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Michael Erpelding as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening, Friday, January 31st from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with family present at 6:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service will begin tonight at 7:00 p.m. Doris was born on May 28, 1918 in Sioux City to John and Myrtle (Desey) Paulsen. She received her education in the Sioux City Public Schools, graduating from Central High School. She married John H. "Harold" McKenna on January 18, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska, to this union, three sons were born. Doris was a kind and generous woman, always being available for her children and grand-children. She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church. Doris is survived by her sons John (Sandra) McKenna of Lincoln, California, Jerry (Yuriko) McKenna of Fairfield, California, and Mick McKenna of Alta Loma, California; Michelle McKenna of Sioux City; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one sister Phyllis (Rich) Grubel of Omaha, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband John H. "Harold" McKenna in 1993, two brothers Bud and Jack Paulsen, and two sisters Irene Kessler and Jeanette Grubel.
