SERGEANT BLUFF | Suzanne A. "Penny" Foreman, 67, of Sergeant Bluff, IA, died suddenly on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 at her home from natural causes. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. in Sioux City. Rev. Tim Rieckhoff-Faris of Community United Methodist Church in Sergeant Bluff will officiate. Burial will be in Nassau Cemetery, rural Alton, IA. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Penny was born Sept. 14, 1946 in Long Beach, CA. She was the daughter of Melvin and Opal (Sipple) Mawhinney. She grew up in Albert Lea, MN and Streeter, IL. After graduating from high school she moved to Chicago, IL and attended college. On Dec. 1, 1969 she married Donald J. Foreman in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. The couple has made Sergeant Bluff their home for the past 43 years. Penny worked at Cellular One for about five years and was also a full time homemaker. Penny was an avid bridge player and bowler. She will be remembered for being a huge Nebraska Cornhusker fan. She was a longtime member of Community United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Donnie; 3 children, Kyle Foreman and his wife, Stephanie of Springfield, OH, Kori Foreman and her significant other, George Robinson and Michael Foreman of Sioux City; 4 grandchildren, Courtney and Cody Foreman and Jacob and Chelsi Foreman. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Penny's name to the charity of your choice.
