Alice M. White, 97 of Sioux City passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014 at her residence. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Rev. Harold Tongon of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Alice was born November 5, 1916 in Oto, IA; she was the daughter of Floyd and Selma (Hars) Scoles. She graduated from Oto High School and Midwest College of Commerce and has been a resident of Sioux City since 1935. She married Russell White Sr in 1943 in Omaha, NE. Alice was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Rose Croix Chapter of the Order of the Easter Star and a charter member of the Sioux City Police Auxiliary. She was employed as manager of Western Temporary Services for 19 years, retiring in 1986. Survivors include 2 sons: Russell White Jr and his wife Jackie of Des Moines, IA, Steven White and his wife Lori of Ft. Collins, Co; a niece Lynn Zerschling of Sioux City; a nephew: Jim Zerschling of Texas; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles. The family would like to thank Phyllis Cooper for the loving care she has given to Alice for the last several years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Siouxland Humane Society in her name.
