Terry L. Sanders

Terry Lee Sanders, 66, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at a local hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Nelson Berger Northside Chapel with Reverend Kenny Hsu officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 P.M. with the family present from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. There will also be a Memorial Service held in Ark City, KS at a later date. Terry was born January 26, 1947 in Arkansas City, KS the son of Albert and Lillian "Babe" (Mayberry) Sanders. He graduated from Arkansas City High School and enlisted in the United States Navy from 1966-1970. Terry married Elizabeth Madsen of July 18, 1985 in Elk Point, SD. He worked for the Arkansas City Fire Department from 1971-1980 and then for the Sioux City Fire Department from 1981-1997, retiring due to health issues. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth of Sioux City; daughters: Bethany of Sioux City, Leia and husband Steven Anderson of Tulsa, OK, Sandra and husband Gary Sprowles of Tulsa, OK; sons: Michael and wife Melissa Sanders of Tulsa, OK and Terry J. and wife Melissa Tague of Lincoln, NE; ten grandchildren; sister Ronda and husband Clarence Dickson of Ark City, KS; uncle Jesse Sanders of Ark City, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
