Ina Mae Schwarte, 81, of Sioux City passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center. Per Ina's wishes, she has been cremated and there will be a private graveside service held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery. Ina was born July 26th, 1932 in Anthon, Iowa the daughter of Elmer Eldon and Florence (Knight) Rose. She graduated from Anthon High School. Ina married Frances Joseph Schwarte on September 11, 1949 in Sioux City. To this union, three children were born. The couple later divorced. Ina raised her family in Sioux City while working at Aalfs manufacturing for 25 years before moving to Pequot Lakes, MN. There she worked at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home for a number of years. She returned to Sioux City in October of 2013. Survivors include her daughters Deborah and husband Richard Jorgensen of Sioux City and Jean and husband Kevin Jessen of Sioux City; four grandchildren Jessica (Brian) Conley, Thomas (Vanessa) Jorgensen, Jeffrey (Kiya) Jorgensen and Daniel Jorgensen. Great grandchildren are Magdalene June Conley, Dylan, Jillian, and Natalie Jorgensen. Ina also had two sisters who were able to live with her for a brief time at the Westwood facility; Faydra Shute of Sioux City and Betty Schwarte of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Charles Eugene Schwarte.
