Charles C. "Chuck" Wanned

Charles C. "Chuck" Wanned, 74, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Roger Madden officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. with the family present from 6-8 P.M. and a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Chuck was born June 30, 1939 in Sioux City the son of James and Anna (Yockey) Wanned. He graduated from East High School and attended Southern State Teachers College in Springfield, SD. Chuck married Judy Hubbard on June 13, 1964 at First United Methodist Church in Sioux City. He worked for Williams Appliance, Sioux Valley Radio, and most recently Siouxland Regional Transit. Chuck loved watching all sporting events and races, but most of all he enjoyed watching his grandsons play. He was often found fixing and repairing things around the house, and was willing to help anyone in need. Chuck and Judy also enjoyed their many trips to the Lakes in the trailer. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Judy Wanned; son Chris and wife Stephanie Wanned of Waukee, IA; grandsons: Nathan and Anthony "AJ" Wanned; sister Mary Ann Wanned of Sioux City; Sister-in-law: Jean and husband Danny Lansing of Boone, IA; and two brothers-in-law: Bill and wife Marlene Hubbard of Council Bluffs, IA and Jim and wife Janaan Hubbard of Minneapolis, MN. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mission Funds of First United Methodist Church.
