Paul Adolf Goetz

Paul Adolf Goetz, 82 of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at a local care facility. Service will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Rev. Michael Erpelding will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. Sunday with a Vigil service at 5:00 P.M. Sunday all at the funeral home. Paul was born Feb. 13, 1931 in New York City, NY. He was the son of Paul and Elida (Gutierrez) Goetz. His family moved to Omaha and Paul attended the University of Nebraska. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Paul married Margaret Mickey" Sinnott and to this union 10 children were born. Paul began working in the stationary business in Omaha and then moved to Sioux City and purchased Perkins Office Supply. He owned and operated Perkins Office Supply for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed going to the Siouxland Senior Center and painting. He is survived by 8 children: Brad Goetz and his wife Pam of Springfield, IL, Brent Goetz of Spencer, IA, Paula Goetz of Cedar Falls, IA, Kevin Goetz and his wife Sheila of Thornton, CO, Kent Goetz of Santa Monica, CA, Theresa Goertz and her husband Tim of Hornick, IA, Kurt Goetz of Lincoln, NE and Kenneth Goetz of Las Vegas, NV; his special friend: Lois Schoenfeldt of Sioux City; 1 brother: Louie Goetz and his wife Barb of Florida, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sons: Brian and Keith.
