David Anthony Hutmacher, 53, of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 following a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Memorial services will be on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Kathy Martin officiating. David was born on May 13, 1960 to Robert and Jackie (Thoma) Hutmacher in Sioux City. He graduated from North High School. David worked as a draftsman for Boeing in Seattle until Multiple Sclerosis prohibited him from working. He was also an avid fisherman and he loved to ski and hike and ride his bike. Despite losing his ability to do these things, David always had a positive attitude about life and was known to say he was doing "better than some and worse than others." He is survived by his parents Robert and Jackie Hutmacher of Sioux City; two sisters Barbara Doherty of Sioux City; Karen Johnson and husband Bill Andert of Mankato, MN; three brothers Michael (Meredith) Hutmacher of Berthoud, CO; Rick (Jamie) Hutmacher of Yankton, SD; and John (Jill) Hutmacher of Madison, WI; and nine nieces and nephews who loved him.
