Thomas Dale Byrne

Thomas Dale Byrne, 81 of Sioux City passed away on Monday, January 06, 2014 at his residence after a long illness. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Rev. Michael Erpelding will officiate. Burial and military graveside services will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wed. with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Wed at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Tom was born May 4, 1932 in Sioux City; he was the son of Thomas H. and Nola (Alderman) Byrne. Tom grew up in Sioux City and attended Central High School. He was a member of the Air National Guard and was activated into the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Tom married Patricia (no maiden name here please) Feb. 3, 1962 in Sioux City. He worked for the Stockyards Company for 17 years before going to work at John Morrell. He was employed at John Morrell for 23 years. Tom was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Men's Club and the Boys of 68 He enjoyed camping, fishing and playing golf. Survivors include his wife Patricia of Sioux City; 4 children: James R. Byrne of Sioux City; William J. Byrne and his wife Mindy of Sioux City; Karen Glamann and her husband Trent of Kearney, MO; Barbara Byrne of Sioux City; 5 grandchildren: Abby Byrne, Jacob Byrne, Steven Byrne, Megan Glamann and Garrett Glamann. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Dorothy Evans and a brother: John Byrne. Pallbearers will be James Byrne, William Byrne, Trent Glamann, Garrett Glamann, Kelly Bucy and Abby Byrne.
