Clyde W. Edwards, 83, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, December 29th, 2013 at a local hospital following a brief illness. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 3rd, 2014 at Crescent Park United Methodist Church with Reverend Scott Squires officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from 6-7 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Clyde was born August 15th, 1930 in Sioux City, IA, the son of Alvin and Zobeda (Lisby) Edwards. He graduated from East High School. Clyde was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Army. He married Shirley (Bower) Jensen on April 29th, 1977 in Sioux City. Clyde was employed with Continental Baking Company for over 30 years before retiring in 1991. The couple then moved to Deer River, Minnesota before returning to Sioux City in 2006. He was a member of Crescent Park United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Shirley Edwards of Sioux City; step-sons: Dennis and wife Laura Jensen of Phoenix, AZ, Keith and wife Barb Jensen of Sioux City, and Craig and wife Marilyn Jensen of Sioux City; six grandchildren: Sheri Jensen Griese, Keri Jensen Acosta and husband Dan, Nichole and husband Vern Plum, Kristi and husband Brian Baker, Jessica Jensen, and Brandt Jensen; ten great grandchildren; and a sister Sue Cook of Sergeant Bluff, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Calvin and Verl Edwards. Memorials may be given to Crescent Park United Methodist Church in Clyde's name.
