William E. "Bill" Clark, 89 of Sioux City passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013 at a Mercy Hospital after a short illness. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Rev. Michael Erpelding will officiate. Burial with military rites will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 -8:00 P.M. Friday with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com Bill was born November 28, 1924 in Sioux City; he was the son of Cliff and Gladys (Spalding) Clark. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Leeds High School. In 1942 at the age of 17, Bill enlisted in the U.S Navy during WW II. He served for 6 years before returning to Sioux City. A year later, Bill married Mary Lou Marsh on May 14, 1949 in Jackson, NE. He worked for Palmer Candy for several years, as well as Metropolitan Life, before starting his career with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a letter carrier until his retirement. Bill was a longtime member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Men's Club. He also helped run Bingo at St. Boniface. He was a member of the Archery Club, the Sioux City Fraternal Order of the Eagles, American Legion Post 64 and the Knights of Columbus. Bill was an Eagle Scout Leader when his sons were young. Survivors include his wife Mary Lou of Sioux City, 5 children: Craig Clark of Woodstock, GA, Christine Daniels (Jack) of Sioux City, Cathy Thorson (Monty) of Sioux City, David Clark (Katie) of Sioux City, Colleen Homan (Danny) Urbandale, IA, 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; a sister: Pat Kobold of Hawthorne, CA. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Robert Clark. Pallbearers will be Jack Daniels Jr, Ben Clark, Andy Daniels, Pat Clark, Justin Krulik, and Danny Kobold.
