Patricia N. "Patty" Johnson

Patricia N. "Patty" Johnson, 85, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Morningside Lutheran Church with Reverend Tom LoVan officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 to 8 P.M. with a prayer service at 7 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Patricia was born the daughter of Herman and Pearl (Laverty) Tool on November 25, 1928 in Sioux City. Patricia married John L. Johnson, Jr. on February 8, 1947 in Sioux City. Pat was a lifelong Sioux City resident. Patty worked for 18 years in the West High School lunchroom. She loved her time there with the students. She enjoyed word puzzles, scrabble, and visiting over coffee. She had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. Patty was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church. Patty is survived by two sons, Scott (Janet) Johnson of Austin, Texas, and Russ (Donna "Susie") Johnson of Sioux City, Iowa; one daughter, Susan (Mike) Jovanovic, Jr. of Sioux City, Iowa; one sister, Arlene Bodenbach of Racine, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren, Todd (Melissa) Evans, Eric Evans, Brandy (Kevin) Pettit, Raquel (Joe) Hubbard, Tim Johnson, Jarrad Johnson, and Alan Johnson; 10 great-grandchildren, Scott, Lindsey, Nichole, Alexanderia, Cameron, Guy, Grayson, Matthew, Joseph, and Dustin; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Tool of Toldedo, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; one son, John Michael; two sisters, Darlene and Ella; and two brothers, Herman and Joe.
