Jody K. Nash, 49 of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. Floyd E. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wed. with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Wed. all at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Jody was born May 2, 1964 in Battle Creek, IA; she was the daughter of Ronald and Sharon (Lynch) Bockelmann. She grew up in Battle Creek and graduated from Battle Creek High School. Jody then attended Iowa Lakes Community College for 2 years. She married Johnny A. Nash June 11, 1988 in Omaha, NE. Jody worked as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens and then the Siouxland Community Health Center. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors included her husband Johnny of Sioux City, 3 children: Tamara Nash of Sioux Falls, SD, Johnny Nash Jr. of Sioux City and Ronald Nash of Sioux City; her mother: Sharon Gross and her husband Eugene of Battle Creek, IA; her sister and brothers: Jackie Mefferd and her husband Randy of Sloan, IA, Jason Bockelmann and his wife Lisa of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Brett Susie and his wife Lynne of Neola, IA. Jody was preceded in death by her father, Ronald and a brother, Joel. Pallbearers will be Jason Bockelmann, Brett Susie, Thomas Nash, David Nash, James Stennis, James Fenceroy, Andrew Pearson, and Ronald Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Bockelmann, Kevin Kerwin, Anthony Norris, Steve Hayward and Willie Buckley.
