Geraldo "Geri" Jesus Torres, 14, of Sioux City passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at a local hospital. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Nelson Berger Northside Chapel, 822 Jennings St., with Deacon Patricia Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Geri was born June 3, 1999 in Sioux City, the son of Keri Torres. He attended West Middle and High School. Geri was a mover and a shaker, always active and smiling. His laugh could make anyone laugh three times as hard, and there was no way you couldn't be happy when in his company. He enjoyed watching cartoons and playing with his dog Pacquiao. Geri adored his nurses and most of all, his buddy Chad. He was a very strong boy, who endured so much, and fought hard for fourteen years. Geri was always on his best behavior and never gave anyone trouble, but you had to be on guard if you were a male in the room with him! Geri will be forever loved; and momma will be with you always. Survivors include his mother Keri Torres; Grandparents Ann and Jesus Segura; Great Grandmother Betty Lou Wood; Uncles Zedekiah Kurtz and Zachariah Kurtz; Great Aunt Kara Wood, and Geri's favorite cousin Kylee Wood; Godmother Margarita Alvarez Martinez; and many other great uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his Great Grandfather and his namesake Gerald L. Wood. A Memorial is established in Geri's name at Security National Bank.
