Franklin "Frank" L. Grigsby

June 6, 1953 — December 1, 2013

Franklin "Frank" L. Grigsby was born June 6, 1953 in Torrance, California and died on Sunday, December 1, 2013 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. A Celebration of Frank's life will be held at the First Unitarian Church, 2508 Jackson Street, Sioux City on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. He grew up in Southern California and later lived in Washington state and Idaho before moving to South Sioux City, Nebraska in 2008. Frank loved to hike, hunt, pan for gold, camp, and tell stories of the things which made him laugh. He also loved music, "anything but rap". Listening to music and visiting with friends filled his final days. While Frank did many different types of work in his life, he was a machinist by trade. He was exposed to hexavalent chromium at his last job, and this exposure caused the health problems which eventually led to his death. Frank is survived by his mother Leona Grigsby of Alta Loma, California; three brothers Kevin Grigsby of Lompac, California, Marvin Grigsby of Bend, Oregon, and Billy Grigsby of Kuna, Idaho; "sister" Twila L. Preston of South Sioux City, Nebraska; and three "brothers" Marlow Hagen, Brent Jordan, and Tommy Burton, all of Boise, Idaho. Frank was preceded in death by his father William Grigsby and sister Victoria Grigsby.
