Charles J. Drury, 85, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Father Michael Erpelding officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 P.M. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Charles was born October 9th, 1928 in Glenwood, MN the son of Charles and Amy (Kelly) Drury. He graduated from Benson High School in Benson, MN. Charles married Mona Zeihm on July 28th, 1951 in Omaha, NE. To this union four children were born. Charles enlisted in the United States Army for two years and then transferred to the United States Air Force retiring in 1968. He then worked for Packers Engineering, Iowa Beef, and most recently Wal-Mart retiring in 2008. He liked gardening, watching the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Cubs, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Mona Drury of Sioux City; four children: Mary Jo Drury of Sioux City, Mike and wife Katherine Drury of Sioux City, Jodi and husband Robert Strong of Hubbard, NE, and Charla and husband John Thelen of Meriden, KS; nine grandchildren: Mike and Kati Drury, Nancy Flemming, Bobbi, Nicholas, and Abbie Thelen, and Skye, Hunter, and Brody Thelen; five great grandchildren: Austin, Mackenzie, and Nicole Strong, and Lindsey and Johnny Loos; and a sister Darlene Zins of Circle Pines, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three grandchildren.
