Robert R. "Moe" Payton

Robert R. "Moe" Payton, 52, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 at his residence following a lengthy illness. Abiding by his wishes his body has been cremated and there will be no local services held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Robert was born the son of Robert E. Lee and Patricia (Hayes) Payton on January 10, 1961 in Tucson, Arizona. He spent most of his life in Tucson and Oklahoma before moving to Sioux City around 2001. Moe enjoyed camping and listening to music, especially Meat Loaf. Robert is survived by four children, Chris (Catherine) Payton of Sioux City, Iowa, Kyle Payton, Alex Payton, and Brittany Payton all of Stigler, Oklahoma; one brother, Gary Payton of Stigler, Oklahoma; one sister, Bonnie Anderson; four step-children, Chad (Chan Douch) Thomas of Sioux City, Iowa, Dale (Natalie) Hinders of Sioux City, Iowa, Heidi Reeder of Nebraska, and Mickie Thomas of North Dakota; six grandchildren; and long time girlfriend, Leona Thomas of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry.
