Darlene E. Vanderzee, 91 of Sioux City passed away at a Sioux City hospital Tuesday October 29, 2013 Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 2, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Father Michael Erpelding of St. Boniface Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Jefferson, SD. Visitation will be Friday November 1, 2013 from 4 till 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 till 8 p.m. and vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Darlene E. Vanderzee was born May 25, 1922 in Jefferson, SD the daughter of Clifford and Lillian (Brusseau) Dagle. Darlene graduated high school at St. Peter's in Jefferson, SD. She married Virgil Campbell in Sioux City April 28, 1942 later she married Clarence Vanderzee October 25, 1979 also in Sioux City they both preceded her in death. Mrs. Vanderzee was employed as a bookkeeper and office manager at Anderson Investment and Insurance. In her free time she enjoyed dancing, playing cards reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a Sioux City resident since 1943. Was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Darlene is survived by one son Thomas Campbell and his wife Marie of lake Jackson TX. One daughter in law Susan Campbell of McCook Lake, SD along with a very close sister Donna Hobbs of Sioux City. Special friend Fred Lettau Three grandchildren and Six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands Virgil and Clarence and one son Dennis Campbell.
