Pearl B. Sandvick, 91, of Sioux City passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Countryside Senior Living. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Gregory Hanneman officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. She was raised in Stanton, Iowa where she graduated from high school. She was united in marriage to Arnold M. Sandvick on March 8, 1947 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2004 in Sioux City. Pearl worked in the payroll department for W.A. Klinger and later for Dr's Wainright, Robison, and Helseth in the office. Pearl enjoyed flowers, dancing and was an avid golfer with her husband. Above all she loved being with her family and cherished spending time with them, always going above and beyond cooking, baking and entertaining them during all the holidays throughout the year. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was very involved with various church circles and activities. She was also a member Morningside Country Club and several card clubs. She is survived by her 2 children Sharon (Steve) Schroeder of Sergeant Bluff and David (Vicki) Sandvick of Sioux City; 6 grandchildren; Adam (Lisa) Schroeder of Los Angeles, CA; Dr. Kristin Schroeder of West Des Moines, IA; Rebekka (Phillip) Maass of West Des Moines, IA; Joseph Sandvick of Sioux City; John Sandvick of Sioux City; and Jacob Sandvick of Cedar Falls, IA; 2 great grandchildren Bailee Pearl and Carson Henry Maass of West Des Moines, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother Howard E. Hanson. The family would like memorials be made in Pearl's name to either St. John Lutheran Church or Hospice of Siouxland.
