Barbara J. Reed, 56, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at a local hospital. Abiding by her wishes her body has been cremated and there will be no local services at this time. Barbara was born the daughter of Walter and Mable (Shearn) Pilcher on March 11, 1957 in Sioux City. She has been a lifelong Siouxland resident. Barbara worked for several years at Interbake Foods. She enjoyed collecting unicorns. She liked skulls and horror movies. She was known as mom and grandma to everyone. Barbara loved her grandchildren and her dog, Nicky. Barbara is survived by one son, Wesley Shearn of Sioux City; six daughters, Tiffany Arambula, Alejandra Reed, Nadia Aguilar, Angelica Aguirre, Melissa Arroyo, and Jane Gomez all of Sioux City; three brothers, Robert Thompson of Sioux Falls, Richard (Julie) Shearn of Sioux City, and Arnold (Sue) Thompson of Sioux City; one sister, Tomi Cobb of Haywarden; and 21 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
