Helen Marie Menard

Helen Marie Menard, 77, of Elk Point, SD passed away October 12th, 2013 at a local hospital surrounded by loved ones. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 26th, 2013 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Helen was born February 13th, 1936 in Dakota City, NE the daughter of Harry and Loretta (Mahtney) Foltz. She attended school in Dakota City, NE. Helen married Gene Menard on July 28th, 1957. She kept busy as a homemaker and raising six children. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, eating out, and time spent enjoying family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters: Becky (Wes) Jolin of Elk Point, SD, Shirley (Tom) Strehl of Osmond, NE and Brenda Menard of Elk Point, SD; two sons: Mike (Brandi) Menard of Webb, IA and Eugene (Wanda) Menard of Seattle, WA; two brothers: Harry (Pam) Foltz of Dowling Park, FL and John (Betty) Bunch of Sioux City; one sister Lila (Richard) Anderson of Sioux City; twelve grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, a son Tim, and a brother Roland Foltz.
