William J. Kolb, 89, of Sioux City, formerly of Omaha, passed away the same day he came into this world on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at his residence. Bill was born October 10, 1924 in Yutan, NE, the son of John William and Clara Kolb. He grew up in Yutan and graduated from North High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard 1943-1946 and the Navy 1947-1952. He married Frances Jean Holmes on June 23, 1946, in Omaha, NE. They raised their family in Bellevue, NE, then returned to live in Omaha for most of their lives. They moved to Sioux City in 2004. He was a member of Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha. He loved his three H's: Hunting, Horses and Huskers. There will be no services or visitation. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Omaha. Survivors include, 4 children, Carol Buehler, John Kolb and his wife, Barb, Jim Kolb and Jackie Tygar and her husband, Henry, as well as 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister and spouse
