Florence L. (Gill) Branch, 87, of Sioux City, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home. There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City with Father David Hemann officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Florence was born on May 17, 1926 in Jackson, NE to James and Mary (Merchant) Gill. She graduated from Jackson, Nebraska High School and later earned her nursing degree at St. Vincent School of Nursing. She was employed for many years as a RN at St. Vincent Hospital. Florence was united in marriage to Leonard Branch in 1950 at Cathedral of the Epiphany. He preceded her in death. She was a long time member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City. She is survived by her sons, Ron (Deb) Branch of Sioux City; and Dennis (Denise) Branch of Sioux City; grandchildren, Zac Peterson of Sioux City; Niya (Ronaldo) Loyo of Phoenix, AZ; Gil (Tiffany) Branch of Dodge, NE; Ian Branch of Sioux Falls, SD; and Marie Branch of Boise, ID; and a great grandchild Caimbree; 7 brothers Jack Gill of South Sioux City, NE; Harold Gill of South Sioux City, NE; Don Gill of South Sioux City, NE; Dave (Donna) Gill South Sioux City, NE; Mike (Joyce) Gill of Sioux City; Joe (Millie) Gill of Jackson, NE; and Leonard (Bert) Gill of Jackson, NE; and a sister Rose (Earl) Murphy of Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Kevin Branch, sister Mary Ann Mahon and Patricia Bateman. Pallbearers will be Ron Gill, Jimmy Gill, Bobby Gill, Sean Gill, David Gill, and Danny Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be her brothers Jack Gill, Harold Gill, Don Gill, Leonard Gill, Mike Gill, David Gill and Joe Gill. Memorials may be directed to St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City.
