Russell R. Rodman

Russell R. "Russ" Rodman, 55 of Sioux City passed away suddenly on Sunday Sept. 29, 2013 at a local care facility. Services will be at 1:30 P.M. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cushing City Cemetery, Cushing, Iowa. Russ was born July 30, 1958 in Sioux City; he was the son of Burdett and Shirley (Thompson) Rodman. Russ was raised by his grandparents, Walt and Julie Hetrick and he grew up in the Winnebago, NE. area. He graduated from Winnebago High School and then worked for a short time for the school. He helped his grandparents on the family farm in Winnebago for many years. Russ enjoyed playing cards and board games and fishing. Survivors include his aunt: Linda Wanamaker of Sioux City, a half sister: Julie Howard of Iowa; 7 cousins: Terri Buck of Lyons, NE, Teresa Thompson of Sioux City, Tammy Shaw of Omaha, NE, Toni "Tonya" Thompson of Sioux City, Tori Gilliland of Modoc, IN, Trudi Corey of Sioux City and Amanda Wanamaker of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandparents: Walt and Julie Hetrick; an uncle: Derald Thompson
